A Look At Our Plans For The Year
2023-2024
At our organization, all of our programs are completely free for attendees. We allocate funds to provide essential resources such as food, snacks, water, transportation to and from events, stipends for summer junior counselors and workshop presenters, scholastic achievement scholarships to support college-bound participants, and materials required for the program.
- From September to May, we offer the CPS - After School Matters program, which includes Trauma Awareness & SEL Program, Mentoring, Workshops, Guest Speakers, and Basketball Skills and Drills. Additionally, we organize a Personal Hygiene Giveaway Event.
- During the school year, we operate our Saturday Basketball Skills Camp.
- In November, we hold the Thanksgiving Feed the Soul Warm the Heart Coat Drive and welcome donations.
- December is dedicated to our Adopt-A-Family Program Events.
- In January, we organize a Feed the Homeless event (location to be determined) and kindly accept donations of gloves, hats, scarves, and socks.
- During March and April, we offer a Spring Break College Tour, Fun Activities, Field Trips, and actively participate in the 11th District Community Policing Events in the Parks, which involve various activities and an Easter Basket Giveaway.
- From May to August, our Summer Programming includes the End of School Bash at Howe School of Excellence, the Austin Hoops Tournament in partnership with Project Exploration, a Traveling Basketball Camp, Workshops, Field Trips, Fun Activities, Alfonzo McKinnie's Basketball Event, and the Book Bag Boost/School Supply Drive & Giveaway in collaboration with the 11th District CPD Community Policing Department.
